Icons of pop culture Assignment 2-2

When we think of icons the first thing that comes to mind is someone or something that defines an era. So with that in mind being a huge sports fan how could I not include Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods as icons. I picked Michael Jordan as an icon because to me he was the greatest baketball player to ever play the game and he also was able to help make Nike a muti-billion dollar corporation. Even years after he stopped playing the game every kid still knows who he is and wants the newest pair of Jordans on the market.

Tiger Woods has become the most popular golfer since Jack. You probably could talk to almost anyone and they would know who Tiger is. He has done more for the game of golf than anyone and is a leading spokesperson for Nike. It would be hard to imagine how much money Tiger and Michael have made Nike over
the years. Tiger like Michael will be remembered long after he has left the game.
Luxury and speed what a better combination for my last icon. From the early 60's to today everyone loves the corvette. The corvette has always been one of america's favorite cars. From it's early years of a muscle car to the fancy sport models of today the corvette has always been an American standard of excellence.

  1. You have chosen fabulous icons. Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods will definitely go down in history as two of the most successful and influential athletes in their sport. I too grew up watching Michael who always seemed to bring a remarkable amount of energy to the court (which can certainly be contagous as a fan!). Tiger's ability to truly live in the moment with every swing of the club is inspirational. I suppose that is obvious due to the staggering increase in young golfers over the past several years! I really enjoyed reading your blog this week.
